Hmm. A "bio." When faced with the task to write about myself for this website, I'm suddenly stuck for words, a state those who know me well, know I'm rarely in.

Who am I? A journal artist, mail art fanatic, paper enthusiast, and beginner mixed media artist. If my art had a theme, or a mission, I'd say it's an eclectic coffee cup full of faces, words, phrases, spilled ink, collected ephemera, personal and obscure, meant to be savoured or glossed over, whatever speaks to you. I adore café culture and strive to capture that mood in my pages, canvases and envelopes. I feel like collage is the perfect metaphor for what I love most about people—the fascinating layers underneath, hidden, scraped away, good bits poking out, and, as Lynne Perrella told me a class once, that perfect "sweet spot." We all know it when we see it. That bubbling up feeling that says, Oh yes, you can do this.
